Shirt Send Story
Founded in November 2022, Shirt Send is now a registered charity shipping sports kits and equipment across the globe. The story of Shirt Send begins with sport obsessed co-founders Fin & Louis in their final year at the University of Bath.
Fin had recently returned from a summer travelling South East Asia. It was in countries such as Laos and Thailand where he continually noticed children taking part in sport with insufficient kit and equipment. This inspired an idea during a twelve hour bus journey where he wrote a plan on his iphone notes brainstorming ways a charity would be able to make a difference in these countries. He titled it “Shirt Send”.
After returning to the UK he shared this plan with flatmate Louis who was able to add his own ideas having travelled South East Asia previously. Together they agreed Shirt Send could be a legitimate non profit charity that sends kit from the UK to countries who lack access to sport equipment.
With Louis previously working at West Ham United FC Foundation and Fin at Millfield School, they were able to leverage their sporting connections and within two months Shipment 1 was announced set for Bangkok!
Since then Shirt Send has sent kits to Ghana, Thailand, Nepal, Zimbabwe, Peru and Myanmar working closely with other organisations all rooting together to achieve the same goal.
